Hotel Andre Balalzs and design Christian Liaigre worked together with Jenjuice Hospitality to create a magical basement dining experience at the Mercer Hotel. After much research, the team approached Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to bring his simple Provencal cuisine to downtown New York, right after his successful opening of Jean-Georges next to Central Park.
With a blank canvas, Jenjuice Hospitality worked together with Chef Vongerichten to create the 145 seat Mercer Kitchen, the first communal dining room, and an open kitchen in Soho.
Twenty four years later, Mercer Hotel remains the cozy Soho- chic home away from home, according to Forbes Magazine, Mercer Kitchen, the dining destination for locals, date night, and European travelers.
