BARILOCHE

RESTAURANT GUIDE TO BARILOCHE

San Carlos de Bariloche is the sister ski town to Aspen, Colorado. Located 3 hours south of Buenos Aires and South America’s hideaway for ski, sun, beach, hike, boat and fly fishing. Of course, it was the secret town for Butch Cassidy in the early days where they entertained, refueled,  and hide from other bandits. We love the place for it’s simplicity of food, and people.

We’ve been in and out of Chef Franics Mallmann’s town for the past 13 years and still inspires us

MIAMI

The Best Miami Restaurant Guide

Miami Beach has been, second home to Jenjuice Hospitality for decades. The beach, the cocktails, the international people, and the hotels make up the excitement and landscape of Florida’s best hideaway. However, the best part about visiting Miami Beach are the day trips to Key Largo, Islamorada, Key West, to stopping by the Mile markers to discover the best seafood, best beach, best hotel, and best fishing coves. Our favorite spots include Cheeks Lodge, Pierre’s restaurant, Morada Bay, Shell World, Postcard Inn, Anne’s Beach to Little Palm Island.

Our early days in Miami started, opening the Delano Hotel in 1995 for hotelier Ian Schrager with restauranteur Brian McNally and Madonna—next, partnering at the Townhouse Hotel and creating a chic European hotel with French designer India Mahdavi and BD Morr Group. Finally, in 2004, Miss Yip Chinese Cafe made a big splash on Lincoln Road, bringing authentic Chinese food to the beach along with BUCK15 Lounge, the local DJ bar for local musicians and artists alike

We’ve seen a lot of changes since 1993, from the Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive, the Art Deco hotel conversions, the luxury condo boom to the transformation of Design District, Lincoln Road, Wynwood, Brickell,  North Miami, Biscayne to Adventura.

Here’s our 2021 Guide to Miami Beach.

LOS ANGELES

FOOD GUIDE TO LOS ANGELES

We love visiting Los Angeles for its laid-back vibes, sunset views, old friends, and all the great food around town. The food scene is amazing from Silverlake, Culver City, Westfield mall, La Brea Avenue, Koreatown, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Los Felix, West Hollywood to Japan town. Also, we love our dear friends, The Tran family, for showing us their secret hideaways for excellent food and concepts so we’re guaranteed a full tummy and good time.

Another food pit-stop is visiting our dear chef friend, Vincent Cheng of Miss Yip Chinese, who opened three delicious Chinese restaurants in his hometown of San Gabriel, California. Just 25 minutes west of Los Angeles and definitely worth the drive for Peking duck , roast pork and Hong Kong comfort food.

What’s a trip to LA without a  visit to some of our favorite spots. Din Tai Fong for the BEST fried rice and dumplings; Chateau Marmont for cocktails; Beverly Hills Hotel for breakfast; The Apple Pan for burgers and Café Gratitude.

Tell us about your favorite spot so we can trade some foodie secrets. (Updated November 2021)

JACKSON HOLE

GUIDE TO JACKSON HOLE

Summer 2021 was a memorable time in Jackson Hole during the height of COVID. It reminded us how Mother Nature needs our TLC. We were excited to get back into Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons and splash around the lakes. As usual, Persephone Bakery was at the top of our list for bread, pastries, and coffees, and for the BEST BURGERS in town, hands-down was Sweet Cheeks Meats. The local Jackson butcher shop serves up delicious juicy burgers from 11- 2 pm, focusing on sustainability, and locally-raised animals, by husband and wife duo Nick and Nora Phillips.

Next, we stopped by Teton Village to visit friends at Caldera House, the perfect ten-room hotel on the foothills of Teton Village. Super cute little hotel with a private club with views of the mountains. South Cable, the hotel’s coffee and pizza shop, is the perfect meeting place after a long day of hiking. Next, we took a gondola ride up with kids on hand, stopped by The Deck for some french fries and cocktails, and witnessed a coyote passing by the mountains. Finally, our new favorite spot this summer was Coelette. We are brought to you by our favorite locals, Kevin and Ali Cohane of Persephone Bakery and Picnic. Tucked away on a side street off the town and housed in a historic Coe Cabin, the restaurant serves delicious locally sourced snow-line cuisine with a curated cocktail list for all ages.

Check out our 2021 Jackson Food Guide and let us know what we missed.

When people ask us about Toronto, we say it’s full of culture, diverse people, and a food mecca with ethnic foods in every neighborhood. Growing up in the Bloor West Village, known for the Polish and Ukrainian delights and shops, the flavors are memorable from childhood. But, like Chinatown, Greektown, Koreatown, and the West Indie neighborhood, you would discover a whole new cuisine, people, and the richness of their own culture by just hopping on and off the public subway system, TTC. Heading Downton, we especially love St.Lawrence Market, the year-round indoor farmers market where you can find over 120 vendors known for their specialty foods and products. Some vendors include the best meats, Montreal bagels, sauces, smoked salmon, handmade pasta, fruits, vegetables, Canadian products to European bread, and pastries.

Finally, the Distillery is our winter destination where the cobblestone streets light up with holiday decorations, and restaurants serve up cold stews, hot chocolate, and a hot toddy. Just the streetcar ride over is exciting to see the melting pot of the city around you.

So, Toronto is the perfect weekend destination, year-round, for food, fun, or just some Canadian air.
