BUCK15 GALLERY LOUNGE

With 800 sq. ft. of storage space, a floor above her eponymous Miss Yip Chinese Cafe, owners Jennie Yip and Amir Ben-Zion envisioned a cool bar & music club in Miami Beach. With a small startup budget, Jennie scoured thrift stores, estate sales, even the pre-demo party of the Art Deco penthouse once owned by industrialist Roy J. Carver.

We incorporated the owner’s love and collection of Japanese toys, art and created a retro lounge reminiscent of back street bars in Toyko’s Shibuya district. After three months of opening, BUCK15 quickly developed a cult following that attracted PUMA to sponsor and collaborate on events and provide the uniforms for the venue.

Recognized as Vanity Fair’s “Insider Bar” in March 2005, InStyle Magazine’s “Local Hot Spot” in December 2005, and the New York Times’ Travel Miami Guides destination in January 2008.
