Dallas wedding cake designer chef Cris Barreiro had big dreams to convert her famous “little yellow house” from a wedding cake showroom to a casual bakeshop with her culinary son, Chef Andres Barreiro. So she engaged JH to understand her legacy and goals on creating an intimate, cozy spot for the locals.
After analyzing the neighborhood of Kessler Park, Bishop Arts, and Oak Cliff, JH repositioned the 30-year-old house to an afternoon tea shop serving homemade baked goods, cakes, and teas. For inspiration, we looked towards London and Hong Kong’s hotel high tea service, and locally, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
Today, Potpourri Boulangerie continues to create a community of tea lovers for south Dallas who appreciate fresh baked goods and high tea with friends and family.
